How we grade the condition of our books:
New: New directly from publisher or artist.
As New: The book is in pristine, original condition as when published. This grade may apply to older books that have been carefully stored, never shelved, thumbed, or opened.

Photographer Chris Round’s long term documentary project on Australia’s Snowy Hydro Scheme. Constructed between 1949 and 1974, The Snowy Mountains Scheme is the largest engineering project in Australia’s history. Located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, the system diverts water for use in irrigation and hydroelectric power generation throughout inland Australia. The Scheme’s construction of new roads allowed for unprecedented recreational access to the mountains and the projects newly created reservoirs, and turned the region into a major tourist destination. Over the course of six years, Chris captured images of the landscape, people, and infrastructure shaped by the project, through changing seasons, extreme local weather events, and both record drought and flood conditions. This 144-page hardcover monograph measures 9 x 8.75″ and features 73 plates, a debossed and foil stamped cover, an artist statement, and a location index with additional background information on the Snowy Hydro Scheme.
